ESB Services Ltd was engaged to carry out the design, supply and installation of the glazed roof over the food hall area of the new shopping centre. The system chosen was Vitral’s VRS stainless steel system which is a panel based system with profiles in stainless steel to provide a high performing solution with slim and shallow profiles creating a modern look with clean lines. The glazing system was installed onto a curved glulam assembly with profiled perlins to allow the Vitral system to reflect the contours of the glulam structure.

Within the glazing system we incorporated a series of Smoke vents compliant to EN12101-2 standards, alleviating the need for costly mechanical extraction or unsightly louvres.

The works, which incorporated 1100m² of glass, had to be completed within a tight 4 week window the save the glulam structure from suffering staining. This was completed on time including the scaffold adaption required to enable continuity through the 4 programme
